Interview with Milla
What does MUSIC mean to you?
Music, and art, and literature, and poetry are the BEST things in the world to me, because of the power they have behind their creation, and because of the power they have on those who witness and absorb them.
All Arts are a representative escapism.
I adore the effect and impact music has on people, least of all because it is impossible to accurately describe exactly what it is music does to us.
It will always be the perfect, eternal enigma.
Who have you/will you be going to see in concert?
Who would you LIKE to see in concert?
The last gig I saw was a great 'Silencers' gig just before Christmas - it was FAB being in the audience for a change, and being able to really enjoy (and boogie about to!) all those fantastic songs. Stevie (ex Silencers bass player) and I had a great time watching on!
I really hope to make it to some of the fabulous CELTIC CONNECTIONS gigs this month (Jan 2010) in Glasgow. What a programme!
High on my list of priorities will be:
'Natalie Merchant & Lunasa' (GRCH, 28th Jan, 7.30pm)
'Imelda May' and 'The Deadly Gentlemen' (Fri. 29th Jan. 7.30pm)
'Danny Thompson & Friends' (Old Fruitmarket, 30th Jan, 9pm)
I would LOVE to have seen John Martyn in concert - I truly discovered him too late....thank goodness music helps people live on.
Who is your favourite artist?
Scottish artist Joan Eardley.
Where do you love to visit?
Millport (Isle of Cumbrae, Scotland), Venice, France.
What is your artistic dream?
To build a wonderful Arts Centre, with workshops, classes, concerts, information resources & advice, retail and quality coffee! And also to finish recording the CD of my own work!
